Meet DT
(he, him, his)
DT Bruno, LSW, is a Deaf Licensed Social Worker and certified Community Health Worker originally from New York. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Gallaudet University and a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University.
DT advocates for health equity in deaf communities and assists those experiencing grief, bereavement, pain, and chronic illness. He provides evidence-based tools for stress and pain management, ADHD coaching and time management, emotion regulation through DBT, and mindfulness-driven coping strategies.
Growing up as a white Latino in a second-generation deaf multicultural household, DT witnessed disparities affecting individuals with hearing differences and diverse identities. His experiences and ongoing studies contribute to his understanding of cultural and language environments' role in mental and emotional well-being.
Currently accepting new clients from Florida, Ohio, Indiana, and Maryland, DT is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and uses he/him/his pronouns.
EXPERIENCE
DT spent several years in community mental health as an outpatient therapist and is currently teaching MSW courses while providing therapy with My Deaf Therapy.
