Meet Jane

(she, her, hers)

As a compassionate graduate counseling student born into a Deaf family, Jane recognized her calling to counseling at an early age. Growing up, people often approached her for advice and guidance on various issues. After high school, Jane decided to pursue a career as a counselor, helping people navigate life's challenges. She graduated with a BS in Psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2018 and is currently working toward a master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling at Lamar University, which she expects to complete in 2026.

Her experience working at a Deaf community center and residential facility has deepened her understanding of the barriers to healthcare access, particularly mental health services, in American Sign Language. This experience has also reinforced her commitment to providing culturally affirmative counseling services.

Jane’s empathetic and inquisitive nature makes it easy for her to connect with others. She is an attentive listener who helps people work through difficult issues without judgment. For Jane, it is crucial that members of the Deaf/signing community feel understood and supported throughout their counseling journey, knowing they are not alone. With a strong awareness of intersectionality, she is sensitive to the diversity and uniqueness of experiences within the Deaf/signing community. Her strength lies in offering personalized, holistic care tailored to each client's needs. Jane strives to bring positivity and light into people's lives, understanding that even the smallest spark of hope can have a profound impact.

Jane’s pronouns are she, her, and hers.
