Meet Samantha

(she, her, hers)

Samantha Manega is a Licensed Master Social Worker from the DMV area. Samantha identifies as a deaf female, passionate about mental health, with specific interests in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), chronic illness, and trauma. Samantha has been eager to dive into anxiety and trauma research, curious about the diverse ways that these things can impact the mind, body, and spirit. She has found that, as human beings, many of us struggle to heal from the past if these three things are misaligned.

Samantha strives to meet her clients where they are, she recognizes the importance of empowerment in letting her clients guide the way. She tends to provide flexibility in her sessions, while also ensuring she challenges those she’s working with to aid in the growth and reward of her clients. “The only way out is through” is the basis of her approach to healing. Samantha’s therapeutic approach centers around DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and somatic trauma work. Her goal is to encourage long-term, sustainable changes in the thought patterns many of us struggle with. Samantha describes herself as personable and empathetic with an exceptionally calm, down-to-earth demeanor. She is someone who gets along well with her clients, facilitating a safe, validating environment. Samantha has experience working with individuals of all ages, including those who are elderly and in their final stages of life. Samantha is grateful to be a part of the MDT team and looks forward to working together throughout your healing journey!

Samantha is currently accepting clients from Colorado, Maryland, and Virginia. Pronouns are she/her/hers.
